Roofing underlayment is a barrier that helps preserve the overall roofing system.
It is essential.
There are many kinds of underlayment for different types of projects. Differences may vary when looking into underlayment’s.
Some may include: how water resistant (remember this does not mean
waterproof!), protection from decking, vapor protection, temporary protection
(in case there is a storm). These variables play into the decision making process
along with where you live, how big your project is, and how big your budget it.
One the project above we used synthetic
underlayment. We recommend this to
many customers because It is a water and vapor resistant underlayment that is
much lighter and stronger than other underlayment’s. Synthetic was made to
replace felt underlayment and has been a great product for many.
If you have any questions about underlayment or roofing needs in general please give us at call at 502. 643.4333.
Always used felt paper for underlayment mostly, have been hearing a lot about synthetic underlayment and you are also vouching for it, I will give it a try in one of my next projects, if the client agrees to it and take it from there.

Synthetic underlayment have proved themselves to be stronger and offer better weather resistance than say felt and other types of underlayment. Though I do know, if they are environment friendly.
